Alcohol, Cannabis, Tobacco and Self Righteousness- Hypocrisy in the church

Have you ever been to a church service and heard a preacher go " If your heart is not in the right place with God, you should come up and take communion or confess, because its his blood that renews you"... and then they have an itenerary for taking communion every month.
Just as expected, the rest of the christian congregation walk up the podium, accept their "deliverances", approaching the grand stand like an arpegio chord, and then walk back to their seats. Sweet Heavens, they have been renewed. Now they will go unto the world and try and be better people.
At least this is what Christians do and I have seen it with my very eyes. The flip side of all of this is the fact that the exit gate of the church truly is a portal to "un-renew" the christians. As soon as they step foot on this "man made" world, the bickering, the gossip, the back stabbing, the abuse, the lies and the vices bear evidence in their daily walk. Of course, this is in kind, the ideal definition of hypocrisy, but when confronted about it, the piss poor defense line comes up : "God did not look for perfect people and We are not perfect and are just trying to do the right thing". Somebody please give me a barf bag .
On the other side of the coin, there are those that feel the extra evangelism that should reach the ends of the earth, will benefit those of us who do not have the privilege of knowing their savior. How about just being worthy examples? If people like me, secular sinners with impure thoughts of booze, sex and music just carry on our peaceful lives, but do exactly what we say and believe in- why is it so hard for the Jesus followers to do so? If you cant live the life your faith teaches you to live, you sure as hell cant be one to tell a secular person how to do it (even if its a testimony ;) )

As a bible carrying Christian, I am deeply offended by what you have said about us believers.
In fact I am so offended by your differing beliefs that I will not play music with you on stage anymore since it will prevent me from living a pure life. I mean apart from the usual drugs, profanity, hypocrisy and 'rock music' that I indulge in.
I have to go and repent now. May you see the light of my... oops I mean Jesus... ways.
lol!
so true about the double standards shown on a daily basis by christians... i wish we could all just let each other be
Judge Not, Lest Ye Be Judged.
Just because i am born in to a Christian family and have Christian name and follow some man made rituals does not make me a Christian .
BTW
"Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but don't consider the beam that is in your own eye"
"Judge Not, Lest Ye Be Judged"
- Precisely. I wish all christians would follow their own advice.
Oi
What happened about the Alcohol, Cannabis and Tobacco?
I have been misled by your misleading title.
Burn in hell, blasphemer!
"Burn in hell, blasphemer! "
